Take Your Time — Do Not Rush Into an Offline Meeting
Before agreeing to meet someone in person, make sure you:
Have spoken to them multiple times on Fruzo.
Have seen their real face on video chat.
Feel reasonably confident about who they are and what they want.
If someone:
Refuses to turn on their camera,
Avoids showing their face clearly, or
Pressures you to meet quickly,
treat that as a warning sign. Rushing offline can indicate dishonest or unsafe intentions.
Tell Friends or Family Where You’re Going
Always let at least one trusted person know:
Who you are meeting
When you are meeting
Where the meeting will take place
If plans change locations or timing, send an update. Make sure your phone is fully charged before leaving home, and keep it accessible throughout the meeting.
Choose a Public, Familiar Location
Your first offline meeting should always take place:
In a public area
With good lighting
With other people nearby
Preferably somewhere familiar to you
Avoid meeting:
At someone’s home
At your home
In remote or isolated areas
In private spaces like hotel rooms or parked cars
Public settings reduce risk and give you more control.
Arrange Your Own Transportation
For your safety:
Do not accept rides from the person you’re meeting.
Do not share your home address.
Do not get into their vehicle, even if they insist it’s safe.
Use your own transportation:
Your car
A taxi or rideshare
Public transport
This ensures you can leave at any time, without relying on them.
Be Mindful With Alcohol or Substances
Excessive drinking or anything that affects your clarity can lower your ability to make safe decisions.
Know your personal limits.
Do not let anyone pressure you into drinking or using any substance.
If you feel pressured or uncomfortable, end the meeting immediately.
If a drink tastes unusual, leave it untouched and prioritize your safety.
Keep Your Belongings With You
Stay aware of your personal items, especially:
Phone
Wallet
Purse or bag
Keys
Never leave your belongings unattended, even for a moment.
Ask for Help if You Feel Unsafe
If at any point during the meeting you feel uncomfortable:
Move to a public area
Call a friend or family member
Ask staff or nearby people for help
Leave immediately
If you believe you are in danger, contact local authorities or emergency services right away.
You Can End the Meeting at Any Time
You never need a reason to leave. If you feel uneasy, pressured, or simply change your mind, you are allowed to walk away at any moment. Your safety and comfort come first, always.
