Reporting, Moderation, and Appeals Policy

Last updated: 12 February 2026

This policy explains how users can report violations, how Fruzo reviews and moderates content and behavior, what enforcement actions we may take, and how users may appeal decisions.

It applies to all activity on Fruzo, including profiles, messages, livestreams, and random video-matching features.

Users in the European Union receive additional procedural rights under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), outlined in section 9.

Reporting Violations

Fruzo provides multiple tools for reporting content or behavior that violates our Community Guidelines, including:

  • Sexual content, nudity, or sexual misconduct

  • Prostitution, escorting, commercial sex, or transactional behavior

  • Requests for money, gifts, or compensation

  • Ads or links promoting escorting/prostitution platforms

  • Harassment, bullying, hate speech, or abusive behavior

  • Minors (under 18) on the platform

  • Violence, threats, or dangerous acts

  • Self-harm or suicide concerns

  • Scams, fraud, impersonation, or fake profiles

  • Illegal or harmful activities

  • Privacy violations (recording, sharing personal info, blackmail)

How to Report

Users may report through:

  • The Report button in video chat

  • The Report Profile option

  • The Report Message option

  • The Contact Us report form

Reports can be submitted at any time and are reviewed as quickly as possible.

Moderation Process

Fruzo uses a combination of human review, trained moderators, and automated safety systems to enforce its rules.

What Moderators Consider

When reviewing reports, Fruzo evaluates:

  • The severity of the behavior

  • Potential or actual harm to users

  • Whether minors are involved

  • User intent, context, and history of violations

  • Evidence provided (screenshots, logs, behavior data)

  • Whether automated systems detected prohibited conduct

Automated Detection Tools

Fruzo may use automated systems to detect:

  • Nudity and sexual acts in video or images

  • Violence or dangerous behavior

  • Minors appearing on camera

  • Spam, bots, or mass-created accounts

  • Prostitution, escorting, and sexual solicitation keywords

  • Links to adult or escort services

  • Fraud or scam patterns

Automated findings that require judgment are always subject to human review before enforcement.

Violations Involving Commercial Sex & Transactional Behavior

Fruzo takes commercial sexual activity extremely seriously. Moderators will remove or restrict users involved in:

  • Prostitution, escorting, or sexual services

  • “Sugar dating,” allowances, or compensated relationships

  • Offers or requests for money, gifts, or items of value

  • Sexual conduct tied to payment or compensation

  • Attempts to arrange paid sexual meetups

  • Links, ads, or references to escorting/sex-service websites

  • Recruiting others into adult commercial behavior

These violations result in immediate enforcement, up to and including permanent removal and device banning.

Enforcement Actions

Depending on the severity and frequency of a violation, Fruzo may apply:

Corrective Actions

  • Removal of violating content

  • Warning notifications

  • Educational notices

  • Temporary feature restrictions (e.g., messaging or video chat)

Restrictive Actions

  • Temporary account suspension

  • Permanent account removal

  • Device-level blocking

  • Phone number restrictions

  • IP or region-based restrictions

  • Removal from random matching visibility

Immediate Safety Actions

The following result in immediate removal without prior warning:

  • Sexual behavior in random matching

  • Minors on camera or suspected underage users

  • Prostitution, escorting, or solicitation

  • Threats of violence or self-harm

  • Coercion, blackmail, or extortion

  • Human trafficking indicators

  • Serious illegal activity

Fruzo may increase enforcement measures based on user history and risk level.

False or Abusive Reports

Submitting false reports or abusing the reporting system is prohibited. Users who repeatedly misuse reporting tools may face warnings or restrictions.

User Appeals

Users have the right to appeal moderation decisions made by Fruzo, as well as decisions not to act on reports of illegal content. Appeal rights apply globally, with additional procedural rights for users located in the European Union as required by the DSA.

Appealable Decisions

Users may appeal the following:

  • Content removals

  • Warning or educational notices

  • Feature restrictions (e.g., messaging, livestreaming, video chat)

  • Temporary account suspensions

  • Permanent account removals

  • Device- or phone number–level bans

  • Decisions made in response to reports of illegal content

  • Decisions where Fruzo determines no action will be taken on a user’s illegal content report

Users in the European Union have extended rights under the DSA, described in section 9.

Appeal Filing Timeframes

Users may appeal any moderation decision—including decisions not to act on an illegal content report—within 6 months of receiving notice of the decision.

While the full six-month window remains available, Fruzo strongly recommends filing appeals within 30 days so our team can review the matter promptly and while any relevant content or data is still retained. Appeals filed later in the window may face limitations if evidence is no longer available due to standard retention periods.

After the six-month period has expired, appeal rights for that specific moderation action end, and Fruzo will no longer be able to reconsider or reverse the decision

How to Submit an Appeal

If Fruzo takes action on your account or content, you will receive a moderation notice either in the app or on the website, which—when available—will include a direct option to submit an appeal.

If you filed a report and Fruzo determined that no action was necessary, you may also receive an in-app or on-site notice with instructions on how to appeal that determination.

If the notification does not provide an appeal option or you cannot access it, you may request an appeal by contacting Fruzo through the Contact Us feature on the website or within the app. To help us locate the relevant decision, please include any reference numbers, dates, or details contained in the original moderation notice.

Information Users Should Include in an Appeal

Appeals should be clear, factual, and complete. Users should include:

  • The specific moderation action being appealed

  • The date the action occurred (if known)

  • Any related report numbers, ticket numbers, or reference codes

  • A detailed explanation of why the user believes the decision was incorrect, mistaken, or unjust

  • Any relevant context (e.g., misunderstanding, false report, mistaken identity)

  • Any additional evidence, if applicable (e.g., screenshots that show no violation occurred)

Incomplete appeals may result in delays.

Appeals Review Process

Appeals are reviewed by a moderator or specialist who was not involved in the original decision. Fruzo considers all relevant evidence, context, and user history. Fruzo may contact the user to request further information or clarification. Appeals involving serious safety, underage concerns, or illegal activity may require additional review time due to their complexity. Fruzo aims to provide a clear resolution as promptly as possible.

Appeal Outcomes

After reviewing an appeal, Fruzo may reverse the decision, modify it, or uphold it.

  • If the decision is reversed, any associated restrictions may be lifted and, where possible, removed content may be restored or re-uploaded by the user if it is no longer retained.

  • If the decision is modified, Fruzo may adjust the length or severity of the restriction, such as shortening a suspension, replacing a warning, or modifying a feature block.

  • If the decision is upheld, the content or account restrictions will remain in place.

The outcome of each appeal is final for that specific incident, although Fruzo may reconsider if the user later provides new, relevant evidence.

Emergency Situations

In situations involving imminent self-harm, imminent harm to others, child safety concerns, human trafficking or coercion, or credible threats of violence, users should immediately contact local emergency services.

Fruzo is not an emergency service provider; however, Fruzo may escalate matters to law enforcement or relevant authorities when required by law or when necessary to protect individual or public safety.

Privacy of Moderation Data

To protect users and the integrity of Fruzo’s safety processes, Fruzo may preserve information related to moderation decisions, reports, and investigations. Certain moderation details may be withheld to prevent users from evading enforcement, retaliating against reporters, or exploiting internal safety tools.

Fruzo processes and retains moderation-related data only as necessary to enforce our policies, comply with legal obligations, and maintain the safety and integrity of the platform, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Additional Rights for EU Users (DSA Compliance)

Users located in the European Union are entitled to additional procedural guarantees under the DSA.

Statement of Reasons

EU users will receive a detailed notice of moderation (“statement of reasons”) including:

  • The specific rule violated

  • How the violation was detected

  • Whether automated systems were used

  • Whether human review occurred

  • The impact of the enforcement action

  • Instructions on how to appeal

  • Information about applicable out-of-court dispute settlement bodies (when available)

Enhanced Appeal Rights

Users located in the European Union have additional redress options under the Digital Services Act (DSA).

In addition to Fruzo’s internal appeal process, EU users may challenge a decision to remove content or restrict an account by submitting a complaint to an EU-certified out-of-court dispute settlement body, which can independently review the decision. Although their rulings are not binding on Fruzo, the platform will give them due consideration.

A list of certified dispute bodies is available from the European Commission’s website here.

EU users may also report suspected DSA violations to their country’s Digital Services Coordinator, and these options do not limit the right to pursue remedies before competent courts. Fruzo recommends first submitting an internal appeal, including clear details explaining why the moderation decision is believed to be incorrect, before using external redress mechanisms.

Transparency About Automated Moderation

EU Users must be informed if a moderation decision was:

  • Fully automated

  • Partially automated

  • Based on AI or machine-learning systems

Moderation involving context or judgment always includes human review.

Trusted Flaggers

Reports from EU-designated trusted flaggers receive priority handling and expedited review.

Non-Personalized Options

If Fruzo provides personalized systems that influence visibility or matching, EU users must have access to at least one non-personalized experience. If Fruzo’s matching is already 100% random, Fruzo will disclose this clearly to EU users.

Protection Against Arbitrary Enforcement

Moderation for EU users must be:

  • Non-discriminatory

  • Consistent

  • Transparent

  • Based on published policies

Legal Cooperation

Fruzo may cooperate with law enforcement, regulatory bodies, or other competent authorities when we receive a valid and lawful request related to illegal content or unlawful behavior on the platform. This may include responding to orders involving child safety concerns, fraud, human trafficking or exploitation, serious criminal investigations, or other matters where disclosure is required by applicable law.

Any information shared in response to such requests is limited to what is legally mandated and appropriate in the circumstances, and Fruzo evaluates each request to verify that it is lawful, properly scoped, and issued by an authorized agency. Fruzo does not actively monitor user activity for law enforcement purposes, nor do we act as an investigative authority; however, where legally required or when necessary to protect individual or public safety, Fruzo may preserve and disclose relevant information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. Fruzo will promptly review and, where appropriate, escalate reports involving suspected human trafficking, exploitation, or other serious criminal conduct to the relevant authorities.

Updates to This Policy

Fruzo may update this Policy as needed to reflect new features, safety requirements, or legal obligations. Significant updates will be communicated clearly in-app or via the website.
