Fruzo connects people from around the world through random matching, video chat, and social discovery. While most interactions are friendly, meeting strangers online comes with risks. These safety tips are designed to help users protect themselves, set boundaries, and stay in control of their experience.
Please read and follow these recommendations whenever you use Fruzo. If you live in Colorado, please see our Colorado Safety Policy.
Protect Your Personal Information
Never share sensitive personal details with someone you meet on Fruzo. This includes:
Full name
Home or work address
Phone number
Email address
Social security/national ID numbers
Bank details, passwords, or financial information
Travel plans or daily routines
Strangers do not need that information to have a friendly conversation. If someone asks for private details, disconnect and report them immediately.
Keep the Conversation on Fruzo Until You Trust the Person
Users may occasionally ask to switch to Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, or other platforms. Be cautious.
Do not allow yourself to be pressured into moving off Fruzo.
Do not send photos, videos, or personal information on external apps.
Be especially wary if someone becomes overly affectionate or urgent too quickly.
If someone insists on moving off-platform, it may be an attempt to avoid Fruzo’s safety protections.
Maintain Strong Boundaries in Video Chats
Your comfort comes first. You should:
Sit in a well-lit, visible area so others feel comfortable engaging with you.
End the conversation immediately if the other person makes you uncomfortable.
Report anyone who behaves inappropriately, acts aggressively, or violates platform rules.
Avoid showing overly personal details in your background (e.g., address numbers, bills, ID cards).
You should never:
Undress, expose your body, or perform sexual acts.
Let anyone pressure you into doing something you don’t want to do.
Show minors or other individuals who have not consented to appear on camera.
Be Wary of People Asking for Money or Gifts
Scammers often try to gain sympathy or affection before making requests. Common tactics include:
Claiming to have a sudden emergency
Pretending to be stranded or in danger
Asking for help paying medical bills
Requesting money to “come visit you”
Offering romantic or sexual interactions in exchange for money
You should never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or anything of value to someone you met on Fruzo. If someone asks for money, disconnect and report them.
Trust Your Instincts — Disconnect Anytime
You never need a reason to stop a chat.
If something feels “off,” trust your intuition.
End the session immediately if you feel uncomfortable, pressured, unsafe, or uncertain.
You do not owe an explanation.
Your safety matters more than their feelings.
Beware of Screen Recording and Screenshot Risks
Even though Fruzo prohibits recording without consent, not everyone follows the rules. To protect yourself:
Do not do or say anything on video you wouldn’t want shared publicly.
Be cautious about revealing your surroundings.
Do not show identification documents, sensitive paperwork, or financial info.
Avoid giving strangers material that could be used against you.
If you believe someone has recorded or threatened to misuse content, report it immediately.
Do Not Meet Strangers In Person Without Caution
If you choose to meet someone outside Fruzo, follow these steps:
Meet in a public place with lots of people around.
Tell a friend or family member where you are going and who you’re meeting.
Arrange your own transportation; do not rely on the other person.
Keep your phone charged and on you.
Trust your instincts — leave immediately if you feel uneasy.
Never agree to meet:
At their home
At your home
In remote or private areas
Late at night before you know them
For more information, see our Offline Meeting Safety Tips.

For your safety and comfort:
Avoid using Fruzo while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Being impaired can make you more vulnerable to manipulation or misunderstandings
If someone appears intoxicated or unstable, disconnect and report them.

Reporting protects the entire community. You should report users who:
Engage in sexual behavior
Offer, suggest, or promote any sexual services, including prostitution, erotic massage, and compensated dating
Threaten violence or self-harm
Appear underage
Ask for money
Use hate speech or abusive language
Engage in scams or manipulative tactics

Use parental controls when appropriate.
Stay in Control of Your Experience
You always have the right to:
Disconnect

Report behavior that concerns you
Protect yourself from uncomfortable or inappropriate encounters
Your safety is always more important than another user’s expectations or reactions.
